Eleven unhurried nights composed as a single arc through the western fjords — from the cliffs above the Lysefjord to the Art Nouveau streets of Ålesund. The stays are the heart of it: design landmarks and a fjord inn kept by one family for four centuries, each set deep in the landscape rather than beside it. Around a handful of hand-timed, hard-to-book moments, the days open up for you to wander. This is luxury the Norwegian way — measured in light, stillness and nature, not in miles.

Day 1
Arrival, then straight to Lysefjord and The Bolder. A private chef dinner in the evening.
Day 2
Lysefjord. Choose at booking: a private guided hike to Pulpit Rock, or a fjord cruise beneath the cliff.
Day 3
Via the old wooden quarter of Stavanger, on to Bergen and the Bryggen waterfront.
Day 4
Bergen at your own pace — the old town, the galleries, the funicular above the roofs, or simply the harbour. Private guides on request.
Day 5
The Iris Expedition — the water-express from Bergen to Rosendal, a boathouse stop, and the tasting menu at Iris, the restaurant inside the floating Salmon Eye orb often likened to the film The Menu.
Day 6
On to Walaker Hotell on the Sognefjord. A private, after-hours visit to the Borgund stave church, then dinner at the hotel.
Day 7
Flåm. A private railway carriage, a cruise on the Nærøyfjord, the Stegastein viewpoint, and lunch at Ægir.
Day 8
A mountain-pass drive to Juvet Landscape Hotel. The bathhouse in the afternoon, a barn dinner at night.
Day 9
A day among the great mountain passes and fjord views around Geiranger, at your own pace.
Day 10
On to Ålesund, and an evening walk around the harbour.
Day 11
A full day in Ålesund — the Aksla viewpoint and the Art Nouveau streets.

The Bolder
Glass sky-lodges balanced on a single steel column, high above the Lysefjord near Preikestolen. Interiors by the Danish design house Vipp, floor-to-ceiling glass to the fjord — and a private chef's dinner at the edge of the drop.
SOGNEFJORD · DAYS 6–7
Walaker Hotell
The oldest family-run hotel in Norway — the same family well into its fourth century — on the still Lustrafjord at Solvorn. Two Michelin Keys, a formal four-course dinner, and breakfast jam from the hotel's own orchard.
VALLDAL · DAYS 8–9
Juvet Landscape Hotel
Norway's original landscape hotel — glass-and-wood rooms scattered through the birch above a river gorge, each turned to its own view. The setting for Alex Garland's film Ex Machina (2014), with a riverside bathhouse spa. One Michelin Key.
In Bergen you stay three nights on the old Hanseatic wharf at Bryggen; in Ålesund, among the Art Nouveau streets by the open Atlantic. And a table is held for you at Iris, the tasting-menu restaurant inside the floating Salmon Eye off Rosendal — reached by the water-express from Bergen.

Due 14 days after you reserve; on receipt your booking is confirmed, every hotel, ferry and table secured, and your written confirmation and detailed, timed day-by-day itinerary follow.

Sixty days out
The balance, with final guest details, due sixty days before departure. A pre-trip call a week before you travel.
Full cancellation terms, the travel-insurance requirement and current entry rules are shared with your quotation. The journey is private to your party and can be shortened, extended, or paired with a winter Arctic Lights journey.

Visa & entry
Norway is part of the Schengen Area, and many nationalities — Korea, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan among them — enter visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180. Your passport should be valid at least three months beyond departure and issued within the last ten years. Europe's Entry/Exit System (EES) is now in place at the border, and a new online authorisation, ETIAS, is expected from late 2026 for visa-free visitors — a quick form we'll guide you through. If your nationality needs a Schengen visa, we'll help you apply.

Travel insurance
Comprehensive cover — medical, evacuation and cancellation — is required and not included. The one thing we ask every guest to hold before departure; we're glad to recommend a policy.
Deposits & cancellation
A 20% deposit secures your journey and is non-refundable; the balance follows the schedule set out with your quotation. Should you cancel, the charge follows the time before departure — more than 60 days, the deposit only; 30 to 60 days, half the journey; under 30 days, or a no-show, the full price. Because this is a private journey, we can often move your dates instead, if you tell us early. We count from the day we receive written notice, and this is why we ask every guest to hold travel insurance with cancellation cover from the day they reserve. If we ever have to cancel, you're offered new dates or a full refund. The full Booking terms set all of this out, and the particulars of your own journey come with your quotation.
Getting there
The journey begins in Stavanger and ends in Ålesund, with every internal leg — ferries, drives and transfers — arranged by us. International flights are excluded; we're glad to arrange them alongside your journey.
Driving & licence
If you choose the self-drive option, you'll need a full driving licence held for at least a year and, for most non-EU/EEA licences, an International Driving Permit (IDP) carried alongside it — Norway requires the IDP with your national licence, so arrange it at home before you travel. With a private driver-guide, none of this applies. We confirm exactly what your licence needs once your dates are set.
